Bioenergy Association partners with CEP to spotlight the future of fuels

The Bioenergy Association is pleased to announce its partnership with the Carbon and Energy Professionals (CEP) for the upcoming 2026 Conference. The Association looks forward to welcoming delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors who will share valuable insights into the role of bioenergy and other future fuels in New Zealand’s energy transition.

CEP is particularly excited about the 2026 Conference, which marks a significant anniversary and introduces several firsts for both CEP and the event. The milestone year promises an engaging programme, new initiatives, and fresh opportunities for collaboration across the energy sector.

Natural gas is increasingly expensive and some commercial gas contracts are not being renewed. It's been the mainstay of hot water and heating systems in NZ commercial buildings because of convenience and cost. Marcus will:

  • Address what you need to know when considering replacing gas.
  • Understand practical alternatives for commercial buildings using direct electric, heat pumps and pellet boilers, all illustrated with NZ case studies.

Nature's Flame breakfast/workshop at CEP2026 conferenceJoin Nature's Flame at a practical breakfast workshop alongside the CEP2026 Conference on Wednesday 27 May, from 7am to 8.15am. The workshop will cover:

  • Latest developments in the wood pellet supply
  • Best practices for securing consistent fuel supply and quality certification
  • How to evaluate feasibility for converting existing boilers to pellets
  • Economic impacts: Comparing wood pellet fuel costs
  • How a wood pellet energy system would potentially look on a daily/weekly basis from an operational perspective
  • What procurement options are available to purchase, finance or lease boiler plant.
