16 October 2025 | 10am - 4pm | BNZ, Level 17, 80 Queens Street, Auckland
A one-day in-person masterclass exploring the business case and practical delivery of fossil fuel-free existing buildings.
Key messages
These points shape the tone and intent of the entire day:
- Gas replacement projects do not happen in isolation
- A range of drivers (such as seismic upgrades, regulatory shifts, or tenant dissatisfaction can) can trigger action
- Building owners face paralysis when dealing with aging or stranded assets with no clear path forward; this session explores strategies to break through
- A range of technical and financial solutions exists to future-proof existing buildings and give them new life
- Integrated thinking across stakeholders (owners, engineers, financiers, asset managers) is key to unlocking progress
The masterclass will be in two parts:
- the first half aimed at decision makers/funders within building owners talking about the business case and financial framing of these projects
- the second half of the day a practical technical session for the people doing the ‘doing’.
