Foresta is reshaping the New Zealand’s energy landscape by significantly reducing the reliance on fossil fuels through the production of torrefied wood pellets and valuable resin and terpene. A crucial solution aligned with New Zealand's ambitious goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
Foresta is committed to produce more than 2 million tonnes per year of torrefied wood pellets from seven regional plants located near pine resources. The wood pellets will be a direct replacement for the 2.1 million tonnes per year of coal consumed nationally in energy production.
Foresta recognises that we needed to create more value from the pine wood than just pellets. Foresta (patent pending) manufacturing plants integrate technologies to harvest the valuable resins and oils from the trees to produce wood based chemicals, as well as producing high value pellets and energy.
