Great South is actively involved in the development of energy based initiatives in the Southland region.  Areas of current focus are waste to energy (wood fuel and methane recovery) and electric vehicles.

Wood Energy South is an EECA and Great South partnership project that has been set up to promote a shift in Southland to a cleaner, more sustainable fuel, improving our air quality, at the same time as we help support a new industry around the use of waste wood.
