Silvertree Biomass Solutions
Silvertree Biomass Solutions is a Tauranga based biomass fuel and land clearing business serving industrial customers, forestry operators, councils and developers across the North Island. We convert forestry slash, stumps, pest trees and green waste into clean, consistent sold biofuel, diverting material from burn piles and landfill and supplying it into industrial heat, energy generation and process use.
We operate a fleet built around CBI horizontal grinders, chipping equipment and biomass transport, letting us work at scale on forest cutovers, land clearing projects and civil construction sites. We hold a long-term harvesting contract with Foresta New Zealand, supplying 243,000 tonnes per annum of logs, stumps and approved biomass feedstock into the planned low emissions fuel plant at Kawerau. This is one of the largest dedicated biomass feedstock contracts in New Zealand and underpins a secure supply position for commercial wood fuel buyers in the Central North Island.
Alongside wood fuel, Silvertree supplies bulk animal bedding produced from the same feedstock stream and provides professional tree removal and land clearing services for farms, orchards, development sites and council projects. Every service is built on the same idea; waste wood has commercial value and getting it to users at the right specification and the right price is what grows the bioenergy sector.
Core skills and project activities

Leading edge products and capabilities
Silvertree's advantage is feedstock depth combined with integrated services. The Foresta agreement gives us a secure base load of material and a contracted offtake relationship; our grinder fleet and land clearing capability mean we can layer additional feedstock from development and forestry operators without chasing single truckloads. For customers planning industrial heat conversions, biomass plants or compliance driven waste diversion, we can structure supply agreements with visibility on tonnage, fibre type, moisture and delivered specification.
Reliability of supply is often the binding constraint on bioenergy projects in New Zealand. Silvertree exists to take that constraint off the table. We invest ahead of demand in harvesting capacity and logistics, so that customers can commit capital to boiler and process conversion projects with confidence that the fuel will be there.
