The release of the LNG import investigation confirms what’s already clear. LNG is an expensive energy option.
“The Bioenergy Association welcomes the investigation,” says Executive Officer Brian Cox. “However, we urge the development of a broader, more inclusive energy strategy - one that fully considers all available technologies, particularly bioenergy.
A stable, secure and sovereign energy supply is essential to growing New Zealand’s manufacturing and employment base. Without it, industry struggles - especially when energy costs can account for up to a third of production expenses.”
