Bioenergy Association supports local Govt call for action on climate change

 

The Bioenergy Association is pleased to see Local Government Leaders' Climate Change Declaration where 37 mayors and chairs of NZ called for an urgent need for responsive leadership and a holistic approach to climate change.

Brian Cox, Executive Officer said that “Bioenergy Association is working closely with some local councils on bioenergy solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sees great opportunity for working with others. The Association has also called for a Government led Climate Change Implementation Plan and increased collaboration across the sectors.”

“The Association is encouraging its members to engage with their local councils as many are seeking technical advice and solutions that can be implemented. Utilisation of waste is a key driver. Thinking global and acting local will start making a difference.”
