The New Zealand Energy Data File is an annual publication that provides comprehensive statistics and supporting information on New Zealand’s energy supply, demand and prices. The New Zealand Energy Data File 2011 indicates the following with respect to the use of woody biomass:
- Wood fuel is used directly for the production of heat or in cogeneration plants that provide heat and electricity for many industrial uses, with the largest users being the wood-processing and dairy sectors.
