Waste management in Mallorca
For an island like Mallorca, which lives from tourism and as a consequence from its landscape and territory, having a waste management model based on zero waste dumping is not a whim, but rather an obligation. Ever since the first Waste Plan was approved on the island of Mallorca in 1990, work has been carried out with the aim of implanting an urban waste management model, which by 2010 already faithfully represented the "zero waste dumping" concept. This project was advanced in environmental terms, accepted on a social level and economically viable.
